What is Affiliate Marketing ?

 

I bet you have watched (at least once in your lifetime) a youtube video, reels, or tiktok with the title "HOW TO MAKE MONEY ONLINE".  The good news is, YES, it is possible, and I can say, there sooooo many ways to make money online. And now, for the not too good news, it is not that simple, my friend. How to earn money online is as hard as you earn money in real life. Need a lot of effort, time, and yes, it might cost you a lot of money. So if you see any video that you can get thousands of dollars in less than a week, wake up man, if so, we will never see poor people now. I will make another article about those channels that like they are giving you a perfect way out from your financial problem, but actually, they are taking advantage of you even while you are watching their videos on youtube.

Like the title I choose, I want to talk about affiliate marketing. And to be honest, I AM an affiliate marketer myself. So if you think I will scam you, please feel free to close this article.

Well, thank you. You are still with me. Because I don't have any plan to scam anyone. Just want to share my thoughts that might inspire you. I am not here to tell you to become an affiliate marketer, it is all up to you, guys. 

So, What is affiliate marketing? 

As usual, let's make it simple.

There is a person or company that wanted their product to be promoted by people, so they will make an affiliate program. Therefore, every time that person promoted their products and makes sales, that person will earn a commission from the company, without put any additional charges to the customer. So purely, the commission is paid by the company.

The person who wants to join the affiliate program must fill up the data on the company's website, then they will validate the data prior to approval, such as the applicant website or social media. Because for sure, mostly the promotion will be posted on their website, blog, or social media. Thus, the company will check if the applicant's blog or website has good traffic, or whether the applicant has a lot of followers on their social media.

Once the request is approved, the person (by which an affiliate now, since they have already been approved as an affiliate marketer) will need to find a specific (or some) product to be promoted. For every product, they will have a unique affiliate link so the company may track if there is any transaction that was made using that link, and for that, they will get a commission for every sale they make.

Other than the stand-alone affiliate program, there is a bunch of affiliate network website for you to apply to. The most well-known internationally is clickbank.com. For asia and Indonesia, you can try to apply to accesstrade.com ( it is a link, if you click it and register to the website, I will get a commission too for every sale that you make, I'm telling you this so you can have an option if you want to be my referral, or you want to register by going directly to the website without using my link. As I said, it is all up to you, mate).

Next question, HOW DO WE GET PAID ?

It is different for every company/website, but mostly they will pay you by cheque, bank transfer, PayPal, or Payoneer. You really need to go to the payment setting page in every affiliate program you register, it is just a small tip from me. Remember, ALWAYS do your own research before deciding to register to any website, it is for your own safety.

How much we possibly earn by becoming an affiliate? Is it worth it?  I will try to answer it in another article. And to share with you which websites I registered already. The websites in my opinion are legit base on my research.
